Faculty are invited to attend a virtual briefing and Q&A session on the proposed revisions to the Post-Tenure Review (PTR) Policy. The current draft reflects revisions developed by a faculty committee chaired by Dr. Maria Carlson, and these sessions will provide an overview of the committee’s work, highlight key changes in the draft policy, and offer an opportunity for faculty to ask questions and provide input before the policy moves forward in the review process.

On March 20–21, the East Texas A&M Rodeo Team will proudly host its very first home rodeo in Commerce, Texas at the brand‑new Spur Expo. Collegiate rodeo teams from across the region will come together to compete in classic events such as Saddle Bronc Riding, Breakaway Roping, Tie‑Down Roping, Team Roping, Goat Tying, Barrel Racing, and of course, the crowd‑favorite Bull Riding. With the legendary Andrews Rodeo Company providing top‑tier stock, it’s shaping up to be an action‑packed weekend you won’t want to miss.

The excitement kicks off Friday morning at 10 a.m. with slack, followed by the first performance at 7 p.m. On Saturday, slack begins again at 10 a.m and wraps up with the highly anticipated short round Saturday night at 7 p.m.

We’d love for everyone to come out, experience the new Spur Expo, and cheer on your favorite Lions as they make history in their new home arena.

Sand Volleyball will take place on Monday-Thursday evenings from 5-10pm at Cain Sports Complex.

TEAM INFORMATION
If you don’t have a team, we’ll help you find one – sign up below as a free agent!

Captains are required to invite their team members via IMLeagues in order to get their players on the roster prior to game time.

LEAGUE FORMAT
The league will consist of four regular season games that take place over the course of three weeks, March 30 - April 16. After regular season, teams will be seeded and placed into a playoff bracket. Playoffs will start Monday, April 20.

GENERAL

Tennis is played at the Cain Sports Complex Tennis Courts on Court 1 and 2. Games will range from Monday – Thursday, 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM.

LEAGUE FORMAT

This is a play by date league meaning teams will be assigned game time and days, but need to complete their regular season games that week by Sunday and report them on imleagues. The league will consist of four regular season games that take place over the course of three weeks. After regular season, teams will be seeded and placed into a playoff bracket. The Texas A&M University System is launching a System-wide series of on-campus symposia focused on civil discourse, respectful dialogue, and civic leadership. East Texas A&M University will host a one-day event designed to reflect our campus culture, reaffirm our values, and equip students to engage thoughtfully across differences. This initiative positions the System to model how higher education can strengthen public dialogue and reinforce a positive, values-centered campus culture.

This event is mandatory for Honors College students. Both morning and afternoon sessions will be available with in-person and virtual options. A virtual link will be shared closer to the date of the event.

Step up to the platform and show us what you’ve got at the Strongest of the Pride Weightlifting Competition! Open to all lifters, this event is your chance to push your limits, show your strength, and compete for pride and prizes.

🏆 The top lifters in both Men’s and Women’s categories will be crowned Strongest of the Pride and awarded a brand-new set of wrist wraps and lifting straps — perfect for taking your training to the next level.

This fitness competition will have participants test their strength in three lift categories:
🏋️ Squat
🏋️‍♂️ Deadlift
🏋️‍♀️ Bench Press

Each participant will have three attempts to reach their maximum weight in each lift.
You can choose to compete in all three lifts or just one — it’s up to you!

📍 Location: Morris Recreation Center
📅 Date: April 23rd
🕔 Time: 5:30 PM – 9:00 PM

Imani, Aki, and John are three friends from an alien solar system. While on a space exploration mission, something routine for their tribe, they distractedly neglect their onboard “chores,” leading their ship to crash on an unknown planet – Earth. The accident damages the life-support system that sustains the cherished forest they keep onboard, which gives them their vital Yumi-Plumi fruits. However, forests in their society are usually taken care of by robots.

With no knowledge of plant care or any means of contacting their elders, they are fortunate to be able to turn to the planetarium audience for help. All hope now rests on the Earth children, who help the Stellars discover what plants need to survive and to rescue their Yumi Plumi forest. There is a race against time – will the children be able to figure out the successive elements needed to nourish the plants?

The Stellars is a film aimed at our youngest viewers, ages 3 to 8. It recounts the adventures of three cosmic friends who crash on Earth.

Phantom of the Universe is a new planetarium show that showcases an exciting exploration of dark matter, from the big bang to its anticipated discovery at the Large Hadron Collider.

The show reveals the first hints of its existence through the eyes of Fritz Zwicky, the scientist who coined the term “dark matter.” It describes the astral choreography witnessed by Vera Rubin in the Andromeda galaxy and then plummets deep underground to see the most sensitive dark matter detector on Earth, housed in a former gold mine.

From there, it journeys across space and time to the Large Hadron Collider at CERN, speeding alongside particles before they collide in visually stunning explosions of light and sound, while learning how scientists around the world are collaborating to track down the constituents of dark matter.

This planetarium show follows Jake and Shorty, two fish from the reef, on their quest to restore the magic of their home, Kaluoka’hina.
